There are 10 types of Runes in the game as shown below. The Runes are used to craft a new item or enhance an item by combining. The Runes can be buyed at Weapon Merchant NPC.
* Rune 1, 2, 3 are used in each combination, therefore the three Runes are also called "Standard Runes".
Each combination have a formula, for example : Upgrading an item from Grade 1 to 2, the formulae is
Ur(1) + Thorn(2) + Ken (3) + Wyn (4) + Nyd (5) + Grade 1 Equipment = Grade 2 Equipment
This formula means that, in order to get a equipment of grade 2, you need the Rune 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and a equipment of grade 1 to combine together.
To combine with Runes, follow the steps given below :
Player can combine items at weapon merchants NPC (Quanato : Kaduru , Temoz : Yarrmo). Go to the weapon merchant. Click on the weapon merchant and then select "Open NPC window".  
The Inventory Window and Armory Window will appear together. Select the "Combination" tab of Armory window as shown below. Here you may place the required Runes and items according to the combination formula. 
For example : You want to upgrade an item from Grade 1 to 2 , the formula is 
First you must have the required Runes and Equipment in inventory window. Then click drag and drop the runes and item from inventory window into the slots of the appropriate section. Place Rune 1, 2, 3 in section 1 and Rune 4, 5 in section 2; place the "Hnos Pants"(a Grade 1 Equipment) in section 3. Place them in the correct order(fron left to right) as stated in the formulas.
* By Right-Clicking on the runes and item in the inventory window, they will be automatically placed in the correct section. ( Note that the order will still have to be correct.)
Click "OK" when done. If all the required runes and equipment are in and placed in the correct order, all the runes and item will be consumed and the resultant item (In this case a Grade 2 Pants) will be in your inventory as shown below. A fee of 10,000 WZ will be charged for the combination. 
* In the event of wrong placement of runes and items or incomplete runes and items, the process will fail and all runes and items will be returned into the character's inventory. There will not be any WZ charges.
* Certain formulae have a percentage chance of failure. In such cases, all runes and items will be consumed and WZ charged.
